First Aid & CPR 'C' (with AED)

This course addresses CPR for adults, children, and infants. Plus: First Aid goals legal implications and self-protection; Contacting EMS; Primary assessment; Spine Management; Rescue breathing; Obstructed airway and choking; Hyperventilation and Asthma; Circulatory emergencies, shock, heart attack, stroke, bleeding and fainting; How to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED); Legal issues in using an AED; and on-going casualty care.

Safety Starts with me!

– Have you been in the workforce for less than 5 years?
– Do you know your safety rights in the workplace?

Participants can be members or their children ages 14-24. Topics in this health and safety awareness workshop include: Right to Know, Participate & Refuse; Employer & Worker Responsibilities; and the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). #knowsafety  #noinjury

Members’ Weeklong Paid Training

This course is open to all Members of UFCW Locals 175 & 633.

  • History & Structure of our Local Union and the Labour Movement
  • The role of Stewards & Grievance Handling
  • An Introduction to Collective Bargaining
  • Health & Safety
  • A Local on the move; Benefits; Youth Scholarships; & Education Programs.
  • Why our Local Union is the Leader in Communications & Educational Programs

This course takes place at the Training & Education Centre in Mississauga. As per Local Union policies, we cover the cost of:

  • the course,
  • materials, and
  • instruction, as well as
  • the members' lost wages,
  • per diems,
  • transportation costs, and
  • accommodations.

Stewards' Weeklong Paid Training

This course is open only to Union Stewards at UFCW Locals 175 & 633.

This course takes place at the Training & Education Centre in Mississauga. As per Local Union policies, we cover the cost of:

Health & Safety Weeklong Paid Training

This course is open only to Joint Health & Safety Committee Members at UFCW Locals 175 & 633.
